ORIENTAL PRO BOXING RULES

RULES & REGULATIONS ABOUT RANKINGS

  • WIPU KOTR rankings are completely indenpendent rankings with best professional fighters comming from all over the world.
  • Oriental pro boxing is common name for boxing disciplines comming from orient (Thailand, China & Japan) following the image of traditional professional boxing with basic boxing similarities (boxing ring and same boxing techniques) but with possibility of using kicks, knees, elbows and in some rules throws.
  • There will be only one ranking in each weight divission where fighters, in order to win one of the five possible titles will have to accept the rules for specific title fight and discipline.
  • WIPU KOTR rankings will have 13 weight categories (see the rankings) for male and 14 for female divission.
  • Weight categories between 53-60 kg will have maximum 10 rated male fighters;
  • Weight categories from 60 up to +105 kg will have maximum 20 male rated fighters;
  • For the present, there will be no female rankings, just title fights.
  • Fighters on WIPU KOTR rankings are rated according to their results all over the world.
    Any official professional fight, prestige or tournament or title fight, no matter on which show or organisation will took place, will be taken in consideration !
  • To be rated by WIPU KOTR, it is important to have fighter's activities: with whome he fought, his performance and final result. Sometimes could be enough only his performance if he fough top level fighter, no matter on final result of that fight or tournament. That's why, from January 1st. 2008 we will start using point award system in order to get the best and most credible worldwide rankings.
  • Only fighters who will be officialy ranked could fight for WIPU KOTR titles. Exception could be only for Oriental kick rules titles as most of the ranked fighters are comming from full muaythai / International muaythai & K-1 rules. In that case, for WIPU KOTR titles under Oriental kick rules, challengers could be from the official rankings or fighters could even not be ranked. If they will find necessary requirements and standards defined by WIPU KOTR, they may get approval by WIPU KOTR board of promoters and fight for the title even if they weren't ranked before on official WIPU KOTR rankings.
    With the time, WIPU KOTR will established also computerised rankings for females but for now, they will fight for WIPU KOTR titles under the same conditions as male fighters under oriental kick rules.
  • Beside the activities and results of the fighters in order to include or exclude them from the rankings, WIPU KOTR will take also in consideration the partitipation and results on 4 or 8 man tournaments or any other credible tournament where we have at least one of four or two of eight fighters from our rankings.
    Of course, world level tournament could have always more credits then continental or regional ones but it will not be the main rule.
